owner assisted maintenance for general aviation, Light-sport and experimental aircraft.
Wings Aircraft is owned and staffed by Steve Lynn. He is an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic interested in helping general aviators maintain and repair their aircraft, at lower costs by supporting owners who want to do the work on their aircraft. This is not a shop where owners toss their keys over the counter and get a call when its done. But rather the owner gets involved in all aspects of maintenance for his aircraft. This is allowed and supported by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Title 14 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Part 43.3 (d) that says, "A person working under the supervision of a mechanic may perform maintenance." Owner Assisted Airplane Maintenance provides the A&P to "supervise" work to ensure compliance with laws and exceptional quality of work. So, if you want to work on your airplane, be confident that the right work is being done, the right parts are being replaced, and secure in knowing all paperwork is completed correctly then Owner Assisted Aircraft Maintenance. If your needed work is within the scope of skills Mr. Lynn has he'll let you know, and if its beyond his scope he will tell you that too and recommend a course of action. Mr. Lynn is also an EAA Tech Councilor. Feel free to contact him for review of your home built project.
In order for owner assisted maintenance to work successfully there are several things the owner must do. See the Owner Assistance Requirements TAB. https://www.webador.com/owner-requirements
